How do we know if we are saving enough?

I am always wondering if I am saving enough for retirement or am I saving too much. If I am putting too much into a 529 account or not enough. All these savings vehicles (529, 401k, 403b, pension, IRAs, etc) makes it really difficult to see if your budget and investments aligns with your goals. The purpose of this site is to try to simplify this planning process and make sure that your money is siting in the right spot.
